What to Expect When Buying an Economical Brazilian Slate Teardrop Corner Hearth
Our Economical Brazilian Slate Teardrop Corner Hearths share the same curved teardrop shape and bevelled edge finish as our Standard Teardrops but are cut from slabs within our Economical Selection. This product is only available when suitable stock is present, so availability cannot be guaranteed at all times.
Every hearth will display more pronounced natural character than our Standard Selection. Expect a medium to heavy riven surface, stronger tonal variation across black, charcoal and grey, and features such as two-tone colouring, blotching, raised mineral areas and more noticeable surface markings.
The top retains its authentic natural riven surface, which will generally sit toward the more visibly textured end of the range. The exposed edges are bevelled to provide a clean, neatly finished appearance in keeping with our Standard Teardrops.
The reduced price does not reflect a change in the type, durability or suitability of the slate — only its more characterful surface appearance. Economical Teardrops are priced approximately 30% lower than the equivalent Standard Selection.
The photographs shown are intended as a guide only. As Brazilian slate is a natural product, no two hearths will be exactly alike and the hearth supplied will have its own individual appearance.

Kerb-side Delivery
Our deliveries are to kerb-side only. The delivery drivers will attempt to contact you approximately one hour before delivery using the details given at the time of ordering (landline and/or mobile). The delivery drivers are not expected to assist with the movement of the delivery from the kerb-side to a more suitable location on-site.
The majority of our deliveries are done using a 17t Lorry, if a smaller veicle (i.e. 7.5t Lorry) is needed for restricted access such as narrow lanes or low bridges, this may require more than one delivery if the order is more than 7.5 tonnes in weight.
Damaged Items
It is essential that, upon delivery, if there is noticeable damage to the order (i.e. broken pallet, visible signs of damage to the tiles etc, that you mark the delivery sheet as "DAMAGED" and email us a description of the damage and photographs. This allows us to make a claim and rearrange delivery. Any damage not marked as such on the delivery note will be replaced by us at our cost at our discretion.
Weekends and bank holidays
Collections and our Express and Standard deliveries only take place Monday to Friday. We are not open weekends or during Bank Holidays. We close at Christmas, usually 3 or 4 days prior to Christmas Day and re-open after the New Year Bank Holiday.
Express & Standard
All orders where we charge for delivery are done so on a pallet and delivered using one of our partner carriers. Express delivery is typically for available for most of the mainland UK, where this is not possible, only the Standard option will be available.
Orders placed after our 1pm cut-off time for our carrier manifest system will result in Express orders taking an additional business day as we are unable to add to that days' manifest after 1pm. Most Standard deliveries are 72 hours after being added to the manifest, you will be advised of the estimated delivery date at the time of ordering.
Collections
Customers can collect their orders from our warehouse during normal office hours (Monday - Friday, 9am to 4pm) - if ordered before 12pm, collections can be available the same day (we will advise at the time of ordering if this is not possible) or the following business day if ordered after 12pm.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the vehicle being used is capable of transporting the order safely, we will not be held responsible for any breakages that occur during transit using your own vehicle. All collections are inspected and photographed prior to collection.
